It's good and it is easy to use, but it is not sharp enough and sometimes splinters my cat's nails.

The CRUSHERJan 11, 2009

These things are terrible. I have been trimming my cats claws for ever and thought it was time for a new trimmer. NOT.... these things CRUSH the nail, not cut. I would not recommend unless you want a traumatized cat.

Too cumbersome for small animalsOct 21, 2008
By Huntarr This was the first clipper I bought once I adopted my cats. It worked fine for the adult, no real complaints there. It was much less useful with the kitten, however. The blades on this clipper are actually quite thick (in all directions, really) and so it is extremely difficult to navigate a kitten's small nails. It also makes it much harder to see how much of the nail you're actually cutting. And if your cat is even the least bit squirmy, well forget it. As I said, it's adequate for adult cats, who are usually used to the procedure and easier to deal with, and generally does a good job on adult nails, with some minor splintering. I'd recommend trying out another product.
They are okay, but better for dogs than for catsSep 17, 2010

This was my second pair of this clipper. I thought that perhaps the blade had become a little dull with the first pair.
No replacement blades could be found either online or in the stores, so we bought a whole new pair.
Well, pair #2 does the same iffy job.
They are really easy to use, and fit in the human hand well.
HOWEVER - they are just too thick to do a good job for cat nails.
Most of the time, it splinters the nail, and I have to go back and try to clean up the rough edges it leaves.
This comes with a nail file in the handle, but anyone who has owned a cat longer
than fifteen minutes will tell you that this is a wasted idea. Unless your cat is sedated, it probably
won't be very popular!
I had better luck trimming their nails with baby nail clippers, which are incredibly sharp.
But, good luck finding those any more! We used to get them at Sally's Beauty Supply, but they stopped carrying them.
For some reason, many baby clippers are changing to the scissors-style, which actually has a lot less control.
Anyway, I believe it is making our cats' toenails thicker from repeated splintering.
I'm on here now looking for a new pair of clippers that will do the job without hurting the cat.
I've bought my last pair of these. They might cut, but I'd recommend them for small dog toenails only.
Cat nails are too delicate for this thick-bladed tool. Dogs won't mind and it'll be easier to control.
Worked fine but broke after maybe 10 uses.Mar 10, 2010
By A. Gill Originally, the cut was fine, but it broke after only a few uses. The spring just came flying out of it. I never used it improperly, so I cannot figure out why it would break so soon. Additionally, as my cat's nails have gotten thicker, it has been cutting less effectively. It does splinter them a bit.
