The prime selling point for me with this hamster habitat is that the walls were not made of bars. I own a dwarf hamster and with other cages, she was able to squeeze her head through the bars - leaving her trapped there until you open the bars further and pushed her back. Now that I have the castle, it's a main attraction in the family room. The wheel attached on the side has become sort of a problem and is constantly removed because my hamster likes to nest in it, then runs...causing it to come out in a thin dust and such (you can see where that may be a problem). The wheel is very nice though, silent and unlike other plastic wheels, I didn't have the problem where it got jammed, it is just generally a good wheel. I like the front door to the castle, how it slides open to allow access. Very convenient. One big problem with the castle is that the water feeder doesn't have a tilt head, and you must keep a constant eye on it or it may jam. I did not discover this until my hamster became very ill. If it had not been for my father saying he believed my hamster licking the walls was a symptom of dehydration, I would have never known. A GIANT negative. I will be looking for a replacement water feeder but I could not be more pleased with the rest of the purchase...

The hamster palace habitat by Biddie Buddies is really adorable. I am boarding 2 of the cutest little hamsters for Santa until Christmas Eve. My 3 grandaughters are going to be estatic over it! The only down side about it is that the directions for assembly were a little vague for me, but thankfully, I had some help! The service was prompt and competent.

Cute but not worth the priceMar 11, 2010

I saw this cage and thought since my granddaughter loves princesses this would be cute for her hamster. I bought it and it is cute and colorful. It is also very easy to clean. The downside is the instructions aren't great regarding how to put this together and the rings that hold the pieces together make it very difficult to connect pieces and fit into the holes in the cage. The top is very flimsy and the tower won't stand straight up, each time the hamster is in it, it leans. No problmes with the water tube or the tube for the food. The wheel is nice. If you have cats, don't get this cage because my cat can easily open the tower and the hamster can get out. Too expensive for the quality.

This item was purchased as a Christmas present for my daughter and was broken (cracked) when we received it, I sent a message to the seller with no response. It really isn't worth the money especially if it's broken and we can't return it.

I'm very happy with the size and space of the cage. It looks as adorable as it appeared to be. It's easy to clean and "Ella" loves all the burrow spots.
I'm a little dissatisfied with the way the cage connects at the top. It doesn't connect like it's intended b/c the plastic dips (I think due to the weight of the tunnels). Also the running wheel was missing it's locking part, which keeps it from separating from the cage. We have the cage against the wall to keep the wheel in place. "Ella" did escape this morning from the wheel, so I'll be requesting this missing part or a new cage.
