not for large birdsNov 23, 2009 I found this item to tip easily. This is not made for a large bird (amazon macaw). If my bird sits still things are alright. He has tipped it more than once. So I have to make sure that I weigh it down so it doesn't tip. I like it becasue it is mobile.

Rickety Bird StandJul 28, 2008 This Bird Stand looks good in the picture, but in reality, it turned over at least three times before our Blue & Gold Macaw became used to how far he could lean. While the original purpose was to allow him to enjoy different areas of the house with us without leaving droppings on the floor, he still does. He climbs on top of the feed cups which allows his rump to hang over the floor below. The feed cups should have been moved further in or the tray made a little larger. Don't know what could have been done to make the stand more stable. It is functional, but not reliable.

My bird likes it!Apr 23, 2008 Although this isn't the sturdiest of products and is a little lower than my parrot would like (he prefers tall perches), it's a good stand for the money.

Not very stable, and cheaply made - but aesthetically appealing and convenientMar 08, 2007 A bird stand is quite convenient for parrot owners to have (my babies can now come with me to the living room while I'm washing dishes/doing crunches/other miscellaneous activities), but this particular stand isn't exactly the ideal.
For starters, the box doesn't have assembly instructions for those of us that are retarded when it comes to assembling/building anything; but despite that, it was pretty easy to assemble, for the most part.
Also, the stand is more ideal for medium sized parrots - for instance, African Grays, or Sun Conures - which wasn't clear from Amazon's description of the dimensions and size. Although it DOES suffice for my Green-Cheeked Conure and Cockateil, the wooden bar is a bit too large, and the closely placed cups a tad bit too tall; subsequently, feeding or drinking from the stand's side cups often entails some pretty entertaining acrobatics (well, for me to watch).
My final complaint is that the stand's parts aren't very high quality (i.e. it's cheaply made), nor is it sturdy or stable.
Overall, it's nice because it's convenient, but I think the $40 would be better spent at a local store where you can get a sense of what the end product is, rather than online.
