It can be triggered up to at least 24 times per day with a supplied easy to program analog timer (STYLE MAY VARY). All you need to do is push one tab for each time you want to feed, and the feeder's electronic feed system will do the rest. This Super Feeder by Super Feed is extremely easy to operate and very versatile. It could also be used with a home automation system and/or web based system. It is compact and holds 4 and 3/4 cups of food (slightly over a quart by volume). Its capacity can be increased later with extra stackable 2-cup clear extensions or 1.5 gallon hoppers available from Super-Feed. If you have a really aggressive "locksmith" cat when it comes to trying to get to the food, an optional chute cover (protective device) is available only from Super-Feed, but it is very very seldom needed and small food is recommended. Trigger two feeeders at a time with one timer for multiple cats! A "double feeder" combo is also available from super-feed. This very popular quality Super Feeder has been sold for many years. Not only is it extremely dependable and easy to operate, but it comes with customer service next to none. It only needs minor assembly with a couple of screwdrivers, and it comes with all hardware needed with a heavy-duty ABS black stand especially designed for the Super Feeder and a stainless steel 16 oz. bowl (a must for cats). Proudly made in USA, try one, you'll love it as many other pet owners do! Its compact size mounted is 10" x 11" x 15" tall and is normally placed backed up to a wall, cabinet or in a corner. NOTE: Timer style may vary but will provide for at least 24 daily feed cycles. Last but not least, it could also be mounted to a wall or your very own mount using a 2x4 or 4x4 instead of supplied short stand for that smart and mischievous cat! | | | Features: | |

Very Good ProductJul 15, 2010 I have been using the product for a couple of weeks now. It works very well and is well built. After screwing it down to the floor it has held up very well against regular assaults by the cat.
Only 4 stars for 2 reasons:
- as others have mentioned directions are poor, way too many words and way too few pictures. I am an engineer and I had to undo steps twice in the course of assembly.
- the adjustment is VERY sensitive. I wanted to dispense 1/8 cup 4 times a day. The difference between an 1/8 and 1/4 cup is not a turn of the screwdriver, but a touch of the screwdriver. It took about a half hour of "touches" to get it sufficiently close to what I wanted.
But, once operational and calibrated it is working like a charm. No more howls at the bedroom door at 5 AM.

Good, with some resverationsJun 25, 2010 Although I'm pretty happy with the feeder now (the other reviews explain it well), I was initially rather frustrated with it, for two main reasons:
- The instructions are terrible. There seem to be several different methods of building it given. The pictures are bad. I gave up quickly and just figured out to assemble it myself. Speaking of which, the level of assembly for this product seems a bit out of line with the price. $130 and I have to screw it all together, really?
- The feed amount adjustment screw is VERY sensitive. I spent a huge amount of time tweaking the quantity of food that comes out, and this was difficult and frustrating because of the incredibly minor changes I had to make each time. If the upper limit of the timing screw was maybe half what it is, it would be far far easier to "program".
That being said, this is the only feeder I'm aware of that lets you control the food in tiny increments, and also works fine with food that is physically small (some of the others don't work with smaller pellets).

Kitty feederJun 20, 2010 The instructions were a little vague and it was slightly frustrating to put together, but it works really well and helps keep consistency with feeding cycles. The small adjustment screw varies the length of time that food dispenses, not the size of the opening. It would have been helpful for that to have been stated. Once everything is set up it is very low maintenance and an amazing help! My kitty gets sick easily so I must feed her small portions frequently. This feeder allows me to go away for a day or days and not worry. It is the epicenter of convenience.

Worth the moneyJun 15, 2010 My cat was always waking me up at 4 or 5 in the morning because it was crying for food. I knew I needed to get an automatic feeder and I was suprised to find out that so few feeders exist and all of them we're getting terrible reviews. I looked at every single feeder on Amazon and other sites before deciding that this one was worth my money.
It's twice the price as most of the other feeders you'll find, unless you buy like a $300 one, but I want to let you know it's worth the money. It took only 2 days for my cat to learn that the machine, not me, would be giving him the food he wants so badly. He has since stopped crying in the morning and I get a full night's rest. I even use it to feed him the rest of the day now which makes my job easier.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone considering a automatic feeder for their cat or dog. I'll sum up the rest of my thoughts in pros vs cons in case you're still undecided:
PROS:
-It works! It does what it says it will and portion control/timing are a breeze.
-Sturdy construction. Looks and feels solid. I think it'll last quite some time. You can even purchase additional hoppers to increase the food storage capacity.
-Cat proof. My cat sniffed around and hit it but was unable to steal food from it. The chute is a few inches long and quite narrow.
-It's quiet. The only sound that you'll hear is the food actually clinking the metal plate as it falls into it. I don't mind it and it actually acts as an alert for your hungry cat.
CONS:
-Not the most aesthetically appleasing device. It's not terrible looking but it's not stylish either. Also, you'll have to think about where you're putting it, as the wire and the somewhat bulky timer need to be plugged in somewhere. If you don't have an outlet on the floor, like me, it's a little hard on the eyes.
-The instructions are poor. It'll actually take you an hour to an hour and 30 minutes to complete the construction, testing and setup. This is due in part to small blurry pictures and not so clear instructions; nothing some common sense can't figure out though.

Acceptable but flawedJun 15, 2010 I have tried several automated cat-feeders, and this one is clearly the best. The optional "chute cover" (highly recommended) actually prevents my cat from fishing out extra cat food, and the timer can be set to dispense very small quantities of food many times throughout the day and night. The machine is small and relatively unobtrusive. However, for the price I would have expected a better product. The assembly instructions were TERRIBLE. We could not figure out how to set up the machine until we discovered a video with instructions on the Superfeeder website. Watch that video before attempting to build your feeder! And though my cat food is a normal, small size (Science Diet), it sometimes "jams" in the chute/ramp thing coming out of the feeder ... meaning the cat doesn't actually get fed at his scheduled times. On balance, though, this feeder is far superior to the others on the market.
