I use this for my hedgehog's litter pan and it works really well. It is easy to change out and does not smell. I use just enough to cover the bottom of the litter pan and a package lasted 2.5 months.

This is by far, the BEST bedding to get for small animals, especially hamsters. It does a wonderful job absorbing moisture and odors. I have a Female Syrian hamster. She just loves it! In addition to the bedding, I buy bedding fluff for her to nest in.

I love this bedding. My gerbil loves to rearrange it to his liking. Its very absorbant,and great at controlling odors.

I got the purple carefresh because it was the cheapest, but I regret the color choice. I use wood shavings mixed with the carefresh and the purple with the light wood color looks pretty weird. I had yellow before and that blended much better. The purple makes the cage look dirty whereas the yellow made it look fresh and clean. Kind of a silly thing to care about but it is just not as aesthetically pleasing. As far as bedding goes, I love the carefresh brand because the pieces are soft and light and good for my hamster to nest into.

I have a dwarf hamster, and he does really well with this bedding. It's super-absorbent and lasts a long time. The cage area always smells fresh, and there's no strong chemical smell from the bedding. I think it's probably the best product for pets' health, but that's just my lay opinion. I'd recommend this product.
