cat sitter 2 is for the birds...Jan 20, 2007
By J. Flaig I bought Cat Sitter1 for my 3 cats, they enjoyed it so much I gave Cat Sitter 2 a go. What a disappointment!!They were bored within 5 minutes of it being on! The entire dvd is of birds and only birds as compared to Cat Sitter 1 that has a variety of animals that catches the cats attention span in short segments. Trust me, if you have to choose between the two, don't spend your money on on CS2, however, it may appeal to the (human) avid bird watcher...(?)

Wow, it works! My cat is frozen in front of the TVNov 14, 2007
By Kitty Hooligan I have a very active outdoor cat who has been benched. She can no longer go outside and she is bored out of her mind and unhappy. If she's unhappy everybody is unhappy. She yowls and races around, knocks things over...
I popped the DVD in and she ignored it for 20-30 minutes. Out of the blue she suddenly became focused on the video images and sounds. She was riveted to the TV. At first she climbed around the TV, nearby tables and chairs. Batted at the TV a few times.
Then she settled in, sitting very upright and perfectly still. She did this for about 30 minutes.
I've kept it on and she'll on and off go to the TV to watch. After she watches she's very playful and goes after her toys. She's been in motion for several hours now.
The funniest reaction so far: she went into hunting mode, put the sneak on the TV, crept in, leaped at the TV, gave it a good swat and ran away.
I believe this is the beginning of a good relationship. Toys, playtime, the dog, and now the DVD. Hopefully this will keep her stimulated, active and happy.
I should mention the video and sound quality are very good. I've enjoyed listening to the bird songs as a I work. They have a nice variety of birds and you have the option for the common names of the birds to be displayed at the botton right corner of the screen.
A nice side-effect is that I'm learning new bird songs and names. Not that I'm a birder, I know about three bird songs. :)
I give a thumbs up.

My cat's loved itJun 27, 2007
By Amanda N. Koons I have the first Cat Sitter Dvd and my kitties loved it. They love it so much they actually ask for it. They will sit in front of the tv like, "where are the birds?" When we got the second addition they were just as thrilled. But Volume II is more interactive. Humans can actually enjoy it. They have music tracks that can be turned on or off and captions explaining the bird names. They also have a Lazor Bug that my kitties go wild for. It was extremely enjoyable, and now when I leave my cats home alone, I know they are well entertained!!

Cats love it, flat screen TV needs secured to wall thoughFeb 17, 2008
By Sarah My three cats love this DVD, they'll sit and watch the entire thing in one sitting. The birds are realistic, so much so that one of our cats actually jumped INTO the TV screen trying to hunt the bird.... needless to say, securing your TV prior to viewing might be a good idea.
Good things:
-The DVD loops so you can leave it on all day if you wanted
-The pictures are clear and the sound is nice
-Human sub-titles are available if you want to watch w/ your cat
Bad things:
-The screen shots change quickly so if you have attentive cats like we do they don't have a lot of time to stalk their prey
-The 2nd part of the DVD with the fire-fly chasing thing is kinda lame, the cats are not interested at all
Overall, I give it a 4 and would suggest the DVD to friends.

Excellent Entertainment/Stimulation for My CatsMar 27, 2010

"Cat Lady"
I do animal rescue, needless to have I have many cats. I or rather they found this video to be entertaining and stimulating. Many are glued to the TV for the entire video. All ages are jumping at the TV to try to capture a bird. They love it so much that they actually run to the TV and just sit there when its not on!
I would highly recommend this video for any age cat.
