 An absolutely amazing shampoo!Apr 01, 2007

I was under the belief that all dog shampoos are all pretty much the same. Well, I was definitely wrong about this one. First, it lathers up really well without having to use a lot. Second, it rinses off great. Third, the usual "wet dog" smell we have after our dogs get their baths is usually pretty bad, and with the Buddy Wash they hardly smelled like a wet dog at all. Fourth, their coats have never been shinier or puppy soft. Fifth and final, the smell of lavender and mint is wonderful! You won't be disappointed.

I am giving this product 2 stars (instead of 1) because it did a fine job and I liked the smell. If you are not very concerned about the ingredients in your dog shampoo, you may love this one. Unfortunately, I was looking for a natural shampoo for my dog, and since the ingredients list for this product was deceptive, I unknowingly bought it.
The list of ingredients on the bottle (and on the internet) is: Coconut shampoo base, aloe vera gel, essence of lavender, essence of mint, chamomile extract, sage extract, nettles extract, rosemary extract, wheat protein extract (natural deodorizing agent), tea tree oil, vitamin E, vitamin C.
I e-mailed the company and asked for the list of ingredients in the "coconut shampoo base" and received the following: deionized water, cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB), aloe extract, glycerin.
On the Skin Deep Database (you can Google that) cocamidopropyl betaine has a hazard score of 5 (out of 10, with 10 being the most hazardous). The database says "Cocamidopropyl betaine is a synthetic surfactant; it has been associated with irritation and allergic contact dermatitis, reactions that could be due to the ingredient itself or to impurities present in it, such as 3-dimethylaminopropylamine."
While this hazard score is determined based on humans, it's my hands that are washing my dog, and also my children's hands which are all over him afterward. I do not consider this product to be natural or healthy, and not listing all of the ingredients on the label seems to me deceptive on the part of Cloud Star.

This stuff is FANTASTIC! I have a little Yorkie with medium length hair - and I have tried half of the Shampoo's/Condtioner's on the market and this Cloud Star Buddy Wash works the best BY FAR! It leaves the hair SUPER soft, SUPER silky, and VERY managable! Trust me, I've tried a TON - and the rest are just sitting under the cabinet not even being used. Buddy Wash is THE BEST (yeah, and you GOTTA get the conditioner too!) We give it two PAWS up! ;)

This Product Far Exceeds Any Other Animal Shampoo or Rinse.
I use to buy this at Trader Joes, But they stopped carrying it recently. Found it here with K-Vet Supplies. So Happy with the price and shipping, even better it comes right to my door, No driving, parking, shopping and waiting in lines. I had never seen this Buddy Wash and Rinse anywhere but Trader's, so I never ventured elsewhere.
All around the best, your dog will love it and you will love it even more.

I am a dog groomer and I have used many products on my clients. Since trying Buddy Wash I have never looked back. I use this on all my dogs even over the whitening shampoos and in place of the oatmeal for the sensitive types. My clients owners rave about the smell of their dogs and always ask what shampoo I use. Great product! By the way I always use the lavender and mint.
