5The best shampoo for troubled skinJun 19, 2008
By Hubba Bubba
We have been using this on my boxer mix every week for over 4 years now. He has terrible skin allergies and has constant staph infections. He is on Temaril-p which helps with his allergy but it does lower his immune system due to the small dose of steroid in the medication. Consequently this sets him up for staph infections which he has a sensitivity to. This shampoo helps get rid of the staph with out giving him oral antibiotics every week. You must be vigilant and bath at least once a week and also leave it on for the 10 minutes that is specified. This shampoo will work for any skin condition that causes pustules or needs to be dried out. This shampoo has been a life saver for my dog Quincy!

5Awesome!!Dec 12, 2007

If you have tried antibiotics, steroid shots, all other shampoos, you have got to get this shampoo. I will never be without it again. For it to work for your pet, you must use it everyday for a while and MUST leave it on for the recommended time until you get the problem under control. If you're not willing to bother with daily shampoos for a while then don't waste your money getting this because if you don't follow the directions it won't work for you or your baby. I will never be without this stuff as long as my 12 year old baby is living.

5Dog Acne TreatmentFeb 17, 2011
By Busy Me
My vet told me to use DermaPet DermaBenSs on my standard schnauzer every other day or at least three times a week for a really bad case of acne that progresses to open sores. He also put the dog on antibiotics. I bought a bottle of DermaBenSs from the vet and used it once or twice a week on the dog, not the every other day schedule as he recommended. The dog continued to develop abcesses out of his acne due to my laxity. On the back of the DermaBenSs, it says to shampoo the dog with DermaLyte shampoo first before treating the dog with DermaBenSs for 5 to 10 minutes. The vet didn't tell me about using the DermaLyte first, but after the DermaBenSs and the antibiotic weren't super effective, I bought another bottle of DermaBenSs from Amazon and also bought a bottle of DermaLyte from Amazon. I highly recommend using the DermaLyte shampoo and giving the dog a really good bath with the DermaLyte on his whole body, then using the DermaBenSs on the back and sides where the acne develops. I don't use either product on the dog's head as I'm afraid of getting the products in his eyes. On his head, I use baby shampoo made for humans. Even during and after the first shampoo, I could tell an enormous difference in the amount of bumps he had on his back. The size of the bumps seemed to get smaller as I bathed him. I could see the dead skin floating in the tub (yuck), but the two products together worked so much better than either product alone. I bathe him at least twice a week now and there has been a huge difference in his skin. I also recommend being more diligent than I had been in the beginning and bathing the dog every other to every third day as the vet had recommended in the first place. I highly, highly recommend using the two products together, first the DermaLyte all over the body (minus the head), rinse, then the DermaBenSs on the back and sides where the acne develops. Keep the two products away from the dog's eyes. They are also so much better than the stuff you get at the pet store. You'll be able to tell the difference after just one bathing.

5Absolutely the best shampoo for dogs with allegiesSep 13, 2011
By QnZxTanZ
Used this shampoo on my 2 year old pit bull terrier and i just love it! Definately a 5 star product!!! He has really bad allergy during spring/summer season. I've used so many different shampoo but this product did the job! By the 3rd wash I noticed a difference in his coat. It left his coat soft, shinny and the missing hair around his neck and face started to grow back. I've bathed him every other day for a week then once a week after that. Smells great too!
