 Good Product for the MoneyMay 03, 2010

We have had our Dogit for a year or so now and upon purchasing replacement refills a few months ago, I ran across this mat and purchased it too. I really didn't think that I would like it as much as I do, seeing as how any "mat" or towel may have worked also. However, this mat is super thick (yet still bendy enough) and quite sturdy. It is a delightful color of blue (same as the fountain) and it has several ridges in it, which are perfect for holding the fountain in place if your pet likes to drink from the top. We have eleven cats and a dog and everyone uses the Dogit; some drink from the side, some from the top and some of them like to put their paws on the top and drink from the side and this mat catches all the dribbles and I think it has cut down on the amount of fuzz and clutter that accumulates in the filter. Plus you don't have to worry about water under the fountain getting and staying on your floors (eww) it won't hurt the mat at all! I think we've had this mat about six or eight months and it still looks as good as it did when we bought it (which is amazing considering the use it gets at our house!) it wipes down easily with a Lysol wipe or even a baby wipe. The edges are like rounded (kinda like the curb on a sidewalk) so litter or dirt doesn't really get under the mat (our water fountain sits right next to the cat's room where we have all of their boxes so traffic and trash was a big issue for us)so even if it does get shifted, there shouldn't be any dirt or litter underneath to scuff up the floors.
All in all, I would recommend this product to a friend, it is a high quality, durable product that I believe is an excellent compliement to the DogIt fountain, which I would also highly recommend :)

If You own Dog It Fresh and Clear Large Dog Fountain - Dog It 73651 and have a dog with a big mouth, like mine Great Dane this place mat is a must.
It does what it's designed for, catching all the spilled around water. Fits perfectly under the fountain.
Save your floor from flooding with it!

Definitely a needed item to the water bowl. Keeps the water bowl steady if you set it on the carpet and helps clean up some of the water dribbles. I have three Golden Retrievers, of all sizes, so when they drink, water does tend to go everywhere. The mat definitely is a needed addition to the dog bowl and helps keep the extra water in check.

I bought this for several reasons. Mainly, because my dogs have an aversion to "still" water. They would drink from our pond, which I believe contributed to an attack of colititis, resulting in a $500 vet bill. They now LOVE drinking from this fountain. It is so pleasing to look at and the sound is soothing. The only drawback is that it does require frequent maintenance. Since one of our "furkids" is a sloppy slurper, i am ordering this mat.

"Healthy Dogs, not Poisoned Dogs!"
I was somewhat embarrassed to be buying a high tech designer water bowl but am glad I did. It goes for about a week with two dogs and saves me so much time in cleaning and putting out new water. One of my dogs wouldn't drink water unless I put it down fresh. This solved the problem so I am guessing there must be a health benefit to it as well. Easy to clean, easy to maintain. Visiting dogs run to it like they have been using it their entire life. No confusion as to what to do with it. One thing important to note: when I go out, I leave an extra bowl of water out in case of electrical failure/breakage/water running out. Never hurts to have a back up while you are away.
