It’s Supernanny for your dog Victoria Stilwell is one of the world’s most recognized and respected dog trainers. As the host of Britain’s hit television series It’s Me or the Dog and the founder of training schools on both sides of the Atlantic, she is known as much for her spunky attitude as for her caring, effective methods. Now, in her first book, Victoria shows how to tame even the most problematic dog. Simple, intuitive instructions and color photographs help dog owners not merely train their pets, but understand them -- so when a new issue arises, they’ll be able to adjust their approach and nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. Throughout, she reminds owners that training isn’t about imposing their will on a dog; it’s about giving him the tools he needs to live in the human world. Topics include: --Think Dog: understanding your pup --Talk Dog: canine communication --Dog School: basic obedience training --Dog’s Dinner: the right diet --Accidents Will Happen: house-training --You’ll Never Walk Alone: exercise --Worker’s Playtime: having fun with your dog | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

Insightful, attractive, well-presented FAQ doggie book. Answers all the Qs that a first time owner would ask and more.Jul 26, 2010 I am a first time dog owner and I absolutely LOVE this book. Great insights into understanding doggie behaviour, harnessing their motivation in training, meeting their needs and how they interact in the human world. Highly recommended together with Sarah Hodgson's Puppies For Dummies.
victoria stilwell is consistently wonderfulJun 24, 2010 After reading this book I felt much more in-touch with a dog's view, which makes my relationship with my dog clear and fair. The book is broken up into sections such as playtime, dog diet, and how to understand your dog. It breaks up dog's puppy years and teenage years, which is information any new dog owner should understand. The book is a pretty quick read, with beautiful photographs and text broken up among the pages. If every dog owner had this book it would be a wonderful world!

Love it!Feb 24, 2010 I'm hooked on the show and the book. We keep in our coffee table so our guests ask about the training. It helps having them ask, then we can do the training without bringing it up ourselves. We didn't have problem dogs or anything like that, we just love the way she brings the info to the table and teached you about dogs rather than just training you how to do things... you learn the why behind the actions and that makes "training" that much easier. I think this is awesome, even for someone who's had around all their life.
