This mat did not seem to get warm enough to keep my pet warm. There is no way it could cause a fire if that is a plus for it. My husband checked the mat after it had been on for hours and it still was barely warm.

I can't feel any warmth at all coming out of this pad. I bought it for my cats and they just ignore it. I put it in their favorite places to lay and then they start to avoid laying there. Super quick shipping, though...
EDIT A month later on 1/10/10:
I have to take back my bad review. My cats have decided to lay on it, and whether it is because they feel the warmth, it is soft, or because I just put it in one of their favorite places to lie, I don't know. But I'm happy that they are using it and getting my money's worth. So I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars, because I still can't feel any warmth coming out, but at least they lie on it.

BEWARE! I measured the heating element inside the pad. It's only 10" by 14" instead of the 14" x 28" of the pad.

It does not seem to be all that warm to me but my dog immediately took to the map and seems to like laying on it.

Very pretty soft and warm mat. My dogs fight for the heated mat. Quick delivery and a very good price.
