The *only* treat my seed addict would touchMay 27, 2009 Earlier in this year we acquired a cockatiel who had been fed only seed. While we managed (eventually) to get her on a pelleted diet there were no treats at all she enjoyed.
I'd read that hot peppers and green peppers are often a food that fussy 'tiels will eat, and we tried that, but she turned her nose up at them.
On the suggestion of a friend, I tried these nutraberries, although I was concerned because they are their larger "all parrot" berries and not the smaller cockatiel specific berries.
Oh...My...Goodness.
Not only did she transfer to eating treats from these, anything that smells like this is something she now LOVES, so she's eating all sorts of spicy fresh foods recommended by vets.
The smell of these alone is enough for her, and for my neighbor's 'tiels, too.
El Paso Nutri-BerriesMar 23, 2007 My birds love these treats and would throw a temper tantrum if they didn't get them every morning for breakfast! Excellent transaction with Amazon. Thank you, very much!
