Native Earth 18% Protein Rodent Diet is a natural-ingredient pelleted diet specifically formulated to provide the proper balance of all known nutrients considered essential for the growth, maintenance, and reproduction of rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters. 4018 is a fixed formula diet containing 18% protein and 5% fat. Promotes gestation, lactation, and consistent growth of rodents. Absence of animal protein and fish meal eliminates the presence of nitrosamines. Does not contain alfalfa, thus lowering the occurrence of natural phytoestrogens.

Great food for a great price, Harlan has been having some distribution changes as well as changing their customer base recently and I was having great difficulty getting any food from my supplier.
When I could no longer purchase the 2018 diet, I tried Mazuri, bad stuff, I saw skin issues and even with supplimentation I saw low birth rates(plus the rats hardly touched it, barly saw the stuff as edible)
I saw this food on anmazon, its about a $1 a pound shipped, so I decided what the heck, an went for it. Best. Buy. ever. My rodents are doing great on this stuff and they absolutly love it! I am now useing this as my food from now on, and with 20+ breeding rats with offspring, this is the best buy I could hope for :) If you have alot of mouths to feed, look no further, this stuff is great!

All my rats and mice love this stuff. Even the pups that are just starting to eat solid foods eat it, the size isn't a problem for them.
Blocks help keep their teeth worn down and prevent waste, since it's easy to pick up off the cage floor.
Since it's blended it prevents picky eaters from picking and choosing the bits they like. And unlike some pet store blocks you know you're getting good quality food.

My rats love this food!
This food does not contain any animal products, and does not contain soybean meal. It does contain soybean oil, which, unlike soybean meal, soybean oil does not contain phytoestrogens. The other plus is that this is a closed formula - the nutritional info is not variable, you always get 18% protein.
