Shredded Aspen bedding is made from 100% Great Lakes Aspen wood. It makes an excellent contact bedding for rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Shredded Aspen is not a by-product of some other manufacturing process. It is manufactured from pure aspen wood, specifically for use as a contact bedding, from aged virgin timber.

This aspen is excellent. It's become hard to find in my area and when I do it much more expensive by volume.
The shipping costs are tough, but the price on the product evens it out.

The package arrived today, and it's huge! I filled my 75 gallon tank four or five inches high with it, packed mind you, and only used up around 1/5th of it - which, if you know the size of the tank I speak of, is fantastic.

I really like the shredded better then the chips. We have guinea pigs and they don't make as big of a mess. The shredded also seems to be softer bedding. I am pleased with them and I feel I got a good deal. Thank you.

I love this as bedding for my rats because it smells good and unlike pine or cedar it is perfectly healthy for their delicate respiratory systems, I have my rats litter box trained though so this is only used in their boxes and fleece liners are used in the rest of the cage. This aspen sticks to Everything!!!!
The price is Great though and I love that it is healthy for them and takes away any "ratty" smell.
