 The sprayer malfunctionedAug 20, 2010
The product itself worked very well, but the sprayer malfunctioned right off the bat. First, the tube leading from the bottom of the bottle to the hose fell off and was a hassle to put back on, since it involved emptying the whole 1-1/2 gallon bottle. Then the sprayer quit working all together. It wasn't just a matter of dead batteries, either, since it kept trying to spray but couldn't. We double checked and triple checked to make sure the nozzle was in the right position, also, so it wasn't simply a matter of user error.
I will not get this again. While it was a great idea in theory, it didn't work in practice. I recommend getting an enzyme deodorizer and spraying it the old fashioned way.

The product itself does an OK job on removing stains. Manufacturer claims it removes the odor from carpets, but I can't verify (ask our dogs if they agree). The spray gun that comes with this product if VERY poor. We bought two of these - one worked for the first half of the jug before dying, the other never worked at all. Ended up buying a pump sprayer at Lowe's and applying it that way.

We used Natures Miracle successfully for several years to pretreat carpet before cleaning. It works as advertised.
However, Natures Miracle is a premixed liquid product. A year ago we switched to Odormute Unscented - 15 oz. I mix 6 tablespoons per gallon for pretreatment spray, and a teaspoon to the detergent tank as well.
If you don't want to mix powder (and save money), Natures Miracle is still the winner. This 1.5 gallon size with sprayer is the best value.

Great stuff inside the not-so-great sprayer. Package arrived crushed and leaking, and sprayer won't turn off. Continuously leaks. Amazon is sending out another at no charge, so we'll see.

I've always kept Nature's Miracle in my house because I have a dog, so I laughed when a friend told me that she uses it to remove the perspiration odor from her sons' sports equipment. Indeed, the label states that it works on perspiration odors. And it really does. I've been using it ever since to deodorize my son's ice hockey equipment and lacrosse pads. It's also great for athletic shoes. The large bottle with the sprayer is really helpful if you have more than one child and lots of equipment to keep fresh.
This is a great product with multi-uses! I'm sure I will find more ways to use it.
