Stays sharp the longestOct 20, 2009
By T. Olson I clip my Giant Schnauzer and have tried many different blade types in search of blades that will stay sharp for more than just 3-4 hair cuts. Admittedly, I'm hard on my blades and frequent forget to oil and spray them. Also, I usually clip my dog without washing him first. These blades have far outlasted everything else I have tried (including ceramic) by lasting for 10 hair cuts.

Oster clipper blade A5Apr 04, 2009

Great product; great customer support!
First thing I did when getting this blade was put the unread directions to the side and take a screw driver to both this and the existing blade on my A5.
DON'T DO THAT. Leave the blade (actually 4 pieces) intact to remove and replace. Do Not Unscrew Anything!
It took two patient tech support people and two phone camera pix sent in to verify I was reassembling the pieces correctly to get everything back together. But the people at Oster were kind and patient.
Here's what you do: On the A5, press the lever down to pop up the front end of the old blade and slide it up and off the shaver. Then slide the new one down on the shaver and press down till it clicks. That's it.
All else fails: take the parts to a dog groomer and ask nicely for help in assembly. That works too. Don't ask me how I know that.

Works great on Chow ChowsAug 01, 2010
By Darrell Milam This blade works great for clipping double coats like Chow Chows have. It does not clip right down to the skin but it is close so be careful unless you want that shaved look. For clipping where you want to leave the hair longer I use a steel tine comb to hold the hair up to the lenght you wnat.
You can also cut out knots in the fur like behind the ears. You may have to work a bit to get the blade started but then it cuts like a dream.
Fits my Golden A5 clippers.
As always Amazon had this blade in stock and shipped it right away.

Great productJun 12, 2010
By A. Mercer I spent a lot of money on dog clippers in an effort to save money on his haircuts. They worked great for a year until it was becoming harder and harder to get through his thick hair. ordered this blade hoping that would solve the problem and voila! It's like having brand new clippers again!
