Love this foodJun 10, 2011
By Attack Hamster Was recommended by my vet, and my hammie loves it. Better than the super high fat seed mixes you find in most pet stores. I tried a different pellet mix once but my ham didn't like it--he loves his Healthy Handfuls!

My vet was very unhappy with all the fresh (and organic) food I was feeding my hamster. She said this product should be a staple of my pet's diet. It was impossible to find this in a convenient location (and I live in a MAJOR US city), but ordering here was much easier and didn't make me go far out of my way to find what was needed.
Healthy Food for a Healthy HammyNov 20, 2011
By animateash I had a dwarf hamster and the group I adopted her from told me to use this food due to its low sugar/ corn content. They told me that most commercial rodent foods are heavy on the corn and starches, which can actually lead to diabetes in dwarf hamsters (which is why they often get super fat and super cranky). While this food is a little more expensive and little harder to find (hence ordering on Amazon), I feel it was a good choice. Little Stewie maintained a healthy weight her whole life, was the most personable hamster I've ever owned, and lived to the ripe old age of 5 and a half, which is pretty damn ancient for a dwarf hamster. One bag will last a long time too, since the pieces were about the size of my hamster's head. This stuff was deserving of the hype, and I'd recommend it to any rodent owners looking to better their pet's nutrition.
