My doggie door is more than 10 years old so I was skeptical that replacement flaps available today would fit easily. No problem. They installed in about 5 minutes. Door looks like new.

Hard to find, perfect replacement flap for our old pet doorAug 19, 2011

I searched at length for a replacement flap for our old pet door to no avail. It seems that the newer doors have different dimensions than our old one (from '95). I never thought to look on Amazon but am glad I did because I found the exact replacement for my pet door which had been discontinued.
Installation was pretty easy, but make sure you have it facing the right way. It is a little confusing because it seems at first it should go the wrong way. The directions that come with it are not very helpful. I would suggest taking a picture of the old one, front and back, before you take it off, that will help when you install the new one.

This doggy door is perfect for my 3 cocker spaniels. Plastic flap isn't completely airtight but not a lot of cold air (or hot in the summer) comes through around the edges. It sure beats having to get up and open our people door to let them in and out.

I am 13 years old, and when the dog door flaps failed recently, I was afraid I would have to spend all my time inside. Luckily the Pet Safe people told my master that Johnson Pet Doors might be available, even though they weren't being made anymore. Thanks Pet Safe and Amazon for helping us get the replacement flaps for the door. They fit perfectly and I am in doggie door heaven!
