Best Buy EverOct 14, 2010
By Tmmoats I purchased this cage because my chinchilla looked so crowded in his first cage. I was happy to see it arrive in the mail. It took me alone about an hour to put together. I only had trouble once with the first level side panels. The whole on the side panels go up to hold the section in between the two levels. I was very happy with the product. My chinchilla loves it and I have no complaints about. It does have larger doors so if you have a pet that will try to escape, a little extra caution when opening the doors.

claires new homeMar 09, 2011
By deezer We purchased the feisty ferret cage because our feisty chinchilla claire needed a new home with more space to run. The cage came a couple of days earlier than expected which was very nice. Set up was pretty easy, but beware...the directions that come with the cage are pretty vague. Overall, I would say that the cage is sturdy, easy to roll, easy to clean and provides plenty of room for our energetic chin. A great product at a very reasonable price. She just loves her new home! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has a ferret or chinchilla. The one and only reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5 was the plastic ramps and trays, they were light weight and kind of flimsy.
Just a word of advice...if you do have a chin, they need to have wood ledges and ramps. The trays and ramps that came with this cage are plastic and chins love to chew.

My Chinchilla Loves It!Jun 06, 2010
By Nicole A. Buck I would like to say that I don't normally review items, so that should be a statement of how pleased I am with the purchase. My mom ordered this for my Chinchilla about a week ago (Thanks SO much - love you!). It came earlier than expected, which was great. My boyfriend and I set it up. The instructions could have been more detailed but, like another user stated, the pieces are pretty obvious. Overall, the cage is spacious and sturdy. The large doors are very convenient. (I have included a picture above) I am incredibly pleased. I don't know about ferrets, but if you own a chinchilla (or several), I would definitely recommend this cage.

Great once put together but poor assembly and packaging lower ratingDec 22, 2011
By KTM Pros:
- Great size for the price with tons of room for toys, hammocks, dishes and anything else. - Love the two front facing doors which makes everything easy to clean and access - Once it's assembled it has a very sturdy feel to it and does not look or feel cheap - Cage is lifted so the animal is never at ground level and the storage shelf is very handy - Wheels for easy moving and cleaning, even on carpet! - The ramps and hammock included are actually pretty nice, not too slippery and just the right size.
Cons:
- When I opened the box I laughed and thought that maybe ferrets packaged the box. All the shipping foam was destroyed in pieces and the box literally fell apart in my hands as I was opening it -- felt like it had been chewed on by mice or something! - The bag with the screws was torn open and the assembly instructions were crumpled into a little ball, like something you'd throw away. I don't know if my cage came used or how that happened but it was weird. - The holes didn't all line up and I had to make new holes / widen existing holes to put it together - Two metal pieces were bent. Looks ok now that it's assembled but made putting it together a pain. - If you're going to let your critter wander in and out of the cage you'll need to buy some kind of ladder as the cage is up too high for him to climb in by himself. - This one may not matter to most shoppers but the packaging it arrives in the mail in is the opposite of discreet. Huge lettering that says "FERRET" and a large picture of a ferret on all sides of the box. If you live somewhere that ferrets are illegal and are hiding one or maybe buying a cage for a chinchilla that would be awkward, haha.
Overall it's a great cage and I'm happy I got it. All of the problems I had may be due to poor packaging and I was able to make it all work so all in all I am content with my purchase.

Great Value and Easy to AssembleJan 25, 2008
By G.T. This is an awesome cage for the money. Despite what you may read on other sites this cage very easy to assemble if, you pay attention to the pieces. There truly is only one way to connect them correctly, as there are no universal holes drilled in any side. A bottom is clearly a bottom and a side is clearly a side. This does not mean you CANNOT put the top section side panel on the bottom, but it will be obvious because there will be no hole on top. As far as the construction, it is sturdy and has stood up to a year of feisty ferret abuse. The baked on enamel coating has not chipped and there is no rust forming anywhere. The clip that holds the tray will work its way loose if you do not keep an eye on it and will fall off. A single screw attaches it so it really is not an issue to put back on. The spacing between the bars is perfect for good footing but too small for entrapment, which is of concern for cages with wire frame floors. All floor seams are solid and overlap so there is no danger of the ferret escaping or being trapped between the side panels. The shelves do not have a positive click to give you the comfort that they are secure but maintain their position well. I recommend a fuzzy floor hammock across the top as this has been a big hit with my sable ferret who has hated every cage but this one. The side mesh seems a bit flimsy across the top due to the limited number of welds but shows no sign of buckling or fractures so no issue there. One note is the door locking mechanism does not have a positive locking feature by default. You must engage the latch and slide it to the left to prevent the handle from being raised. If you do not engage this feature then the ferret after close observation will learn that all he has to do is pull up on the "shiny thing" that of course, he is interested in and it is party time. In addition, the top level can be sealed off with an included panel to allow two individual domiciles for either another ferret or a play area. There is plenty of space and the wire floor allows and wasted food or litter to fall safely into the tray below. Cedar chip bedding works great as it prevents insect infestation and provides odor suppression without coming in contact with the ferret's delicate skin. The lower rack works great for bulk food storage and supplies. No negatives just areas that could be improved to have a perfect product. Still gets a five star based upon all the cages I have shopped around prior to purchasing this one. I am very satisfied with it.
