Without a "T" many of the wonderful loops and trails cannot be added to a critter cage. I have mimi mice and the "T" allows me to add various additions to their critter mansion.

I've let my not so gentle 9-year-old son rearrange his hamster's fairly elaborate set-up numerous times - everything snaps together and nothing breaks. I've also had no problem with it - pieces snap together easily and are held together securely with the soft plastic rings. Clean-up is easy enough - just take the pieces apart and run water through them using an old toothbrush to clean up the mess. We love it.

"picky shopper"
most of the critter trail stuff i had shipped to me, including all tubes, were broken. they were easy to repair, but some are permanently stuck shut now and others fall apart easily. and they're pretty hard to clean.
