The quality from batch to batch is inconsistent so it's 'roulette' foodNov 21, 2009 I'm upset with the quality of Wellness food from batch to batch. The Mar and now Apr 12 of the Turkey & Salmon formula are crap. My cat won't eat them and I have to search from store to store trying to find old batches that were wonderful. Why can't Wellness hold a consistent quality? I notice the difference as soon as I crack the can. The two batches I mentioned above smell bad, are drier and I don't blame my cat for turning his nose up at them. Now I'm stuck with a case of this and have to see if I can exchange it but the problem is that the place I bought it only has more of the crappy batches so there is nothing to exchange it for. If you buy online you don't know what batch you will get. This is very frustrating. I wish I could find another brand that was of the same purported quality in terms of ingredients but paid more attention to turning out a consistently good product. Wellness apparently could care less about doing that.

Keep coming back to WellnessNov 11, 2009 I've had cats all my life, and although circumstances have led me to try other brands occasionally, we just keep coming back to Wellness. My 16 year old Siamese loves the stuff, and will chose it over even the popular store brands that everyone sees advertised on TV. You know, those tiny "so called gourmet" cans that people say are so over-flavored that cats become addicted to them? He will eat those, but much prefers his Wellness.
After a long spell with a different brand, due to an elderly cat who was ill and subsequently passed away, we returned to Wellness when the stockpiles of the other food ran out. Within weeks I could see the improvement in my cat's coat. This food is good stuff.
If you're on the fence about trying Wellness canned foods, go ahead and pick some up. I think you'll be happy you did.

Wellness canned foodJun 29, 2009 All three of my cats eat wellness brand food (all flavors). Not only do they love it but they are as healthy as can be. Shiny coats, bright eyes, very active. I was looking for a grain free food loaded with protein when I found this and I wouldn't feed them anything else now. I was transitioning my cats away from dry food and specifically chose wellness based upon recommendations from a vet who specializes in feline care. I'm glad I did.

Donated to cat shelterFeb 22, 2009 I ordered a case of 24 cans of this stuff. Waited excitedly for it to arrive, popped open the top, cat smelled it and walked away immediately. I ended up donating the entire case to the cat shelter!!! Never again!

Not as "quality" as I would have hopedSep 25, 2008 Unfortunately, I am disheartened in the Wellness cat food company. Their wet food created terrible skin issues for Sage and then their dry food created a starving situation with Lilly that would have taken her life.
One year ago, I moved to Germany and had changed my dry cat food slowly from Wysong to Wellness for the ease of access to that brand. Lilly has never eaten much but has always maintained a good weight and a healthy look about her. Six months ago, I noticed that she was becoming dangerously thin, looked ragged and would stare at me with pleading eyes. I took her to a German vet that "speaks English" two times and that left much to be understood. After the vets poking and prodding and a claim of health, I was at a loss and had the inclination to hop on a plane back to the states. I began searching the internet. I bought two books from Amazon.com, Whole Health for Happy Cats: A Guide to Keeping Your Cat Naturally Healthy, Happy, and Well-Fed (Quarry Book) and Your Cat: Simple New Secrets to a Longer, Stronger Life. I love the practical information in the first book and the second book was good for supplying disease knowledge and website links, one of which was the fabulous www.catnutrition.org. I ditched the dry food and began making my kitties food by hand and serving the Wellness wet food in between until I received my grinder in the mail. It took two months for a full transition but my Lilly eats like a horse now. Four months have now passed and Lilly has gained her weight back, her eyes look good and she's back to her frisky, Tiger Lilly, self. As a bonus, Sage, my 18 pound black cat has recovered completely from the severe dander along his spine. He had been to two different vets four times before I gave up on knowing what was wrong. In addition, he has lost his excess poundage and is back to a "GQ Kitty" streamlined 13 pounds while being able to eat as much as he wants. Their fur is silky soft and shiny now.
