This is a great product. The tortoises eat it dry right out of the bag. If they are picky eaters, they will walk away from other foods to get to these pellets. Their draw back is their cost and availability. As much as 3 times the cost deivered as Mazuri for me because it is not readily available on the west coast in bulk.

I'd been recommended this diet before but found it hard to find here in Maine. Got my first bag today from companion caterers via amazon. Fast delivery, well packed and in good order.
Fed it to my tortoises tonight I tried it dry and I was taken buy my Eastern and Dalmatian Hermann's tortoises, Golden and Ibera Greek tortoises and my redfoots. None of these had seen it before as a diet and took to it better than they did Mazori on first presentation. Very impressive and looks like it will be part of their varied diet from now on.

I have been softening Monster diet pellets with an equal volume of water and feeding them to my desert tortoises for years. I buy the large bag and store it in smaller containers in my garage refrigerator.
My critters are extremely healthy and growing well. You have to be patient, though, as tortoises that are used to being fed vegetables will not like this chow at first. But it is a complete food source, the healthiest thing to feed them, and they will eventually get used to it and end up loving it!
I have never had a problem with any Amazon order until this one. I ordered a 20lb bag of Tortoise Monster Diet from Companion Caterers through Amazon.com. The order did not ship when expected, and when I did receive it, a week later than expected, the bottom of the bag looked as if it had been chewed open. The hole in the bag had been taped shut, and there were short, bristly hairs stuck to the tape. I am suspecting rodent damage, which really grossed me out! I do not fault Amazon for this, but I will never order from Companion Caterers again.
