I'm using the sand with a 6 month old bearded dragon and it has been working well. The sand is very finely grained. The white is more of a tan color, which I like more then if it was a true white. I have about 30 - 35 pounds inside a 40 gallon breeder tank which I feel looks pretty good.

This sand has very small grains which give it a smooth look and touch. It holds shapes well when dampened. Regarding the other review complaining about the sand not being white, READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY, as it says "DESERT". Since when have you seen desert sand that's as white as paper? The color can be more precisely described as creamy, like the ones used in sandboxes. I got what I expected with this sand, great for my chameleon.

let me explain I am a little picky for my dragons I like only white Sand because the color stuff dies their belly there is a company caled vita sand out there which is calcium enriched which is really good for them it's 20$ for 10 lbs but worth every Penney and It is truly white. I was disappointed when I ordered this one and it came out orangish. It still works its clean and the company is great I was just disappointed myself.

My lizards like it... There isn't as much as you would think in the container, so make sure you get enough.
