Terrible life expectancyJun 11, 2010

I bought a two pack of these bulbs from a local retailer on 14 March. Worked great initially, but I was pretty disgusted when I came home from work on 26 March to find the lamp burned out. A week and a half? I thought perhaps the bulb overheated or something, although you'd figure a *heat lamp* would be designed to tolerate high heat. Anyway, I tilted the bowl fixture from almost straight down to about 35 degrees off of vertical to allow more heat to escape, and aimed a pretty small fan at the top of the fixture to cool it. The second bulb blew out on 8 April, giving me an average bulb life of about 12 days--but considering the bulbs were on a 10 hour timer, they lasted for about 120 hours each. Totally unacceptable! Since then I've had a regular Philips 100W reflector spot bulb and it's been working great for 61 days. An email I sent to Zoo Med has gone unanswered for weeks. I won't be buying anything from Zoo Med again.

Works fine for my Bearded DragonOct 04, 2010

These 75 WATT Basking Bulbs from Zoo Med work fine for my Bearded Dragon.
Get the temperature up quickly. Been using one bulb for 4 months 10 hours a day
no problem. Recommend get Zoo Med's "mini dome" light fixture to go with the bulb helps
focus the heat and the light. My Dragon loves it!

Don't last long.Jan 17, 2010
By Sasquatch I purchased a double 75w pack of these bulbs. I use them for my uromastyx cage where the basking temp. has to be at 120 degrees and the lights on for 10 hrs a day. The first bulb I used lasted a little more than a month. The second one that I had used didn't even last a month. I feel that this bulb should last longer than this. I used the equivalent bulb from a different brand and it lasted months!

Warm LightMay 07, 2011

This bulb illuminates and keeps my tortoise warm. I've used this brand for 3 years now and get an average of 3-5 months usage out of them. I saw many a review stating that only minutes were received, but for me they work long time so maybe I'm lucky or my electrons may be milder that others. Either way, good price if the shipping is free, otherwise best to arise from the couch and buy them at the local institution.
Good heating solution for tanks 10-35 GallonsJan 25, 2012
By Cody A. Conway I see a lot of negatives about this product, but I've had nothing but positive experiences with them ever since I started keeping reptiles 11 years ago. These lamps have always been the most consistent for myself in terms of heat regulation and life span. Each bulb will typically see about 6 months to 1 year of use before expiring, and is typically on anywhere from 12-14 hours a day depending on the time of year.
If you move these bulbs while they are hot, having just turned them off, the filament inside will break. That's with most spot bulbs. If you keep the light hung too far above the cage, you need to go with a higher wattage than the 75 to produce enough heat. Make sure you are using a ceramic base fixture. If you go to home depot and spend 4 dollars on an aluminum light cage, you will not be doing yourself any good, and these will only lost 30-60 days.
In summery, for snake husbandry and some geckos, I can't recommend these enough. Amazon has typically the best price if you get free shipping on the two pack, but if you buy in bulk, you may want to check out LLL. When I only need 1 or 2 though, I always come back here.
Also - keep in mind these produce ZERO UV, so you will need to have a UV Supplement with these bulbs. If you want a heat lamp / UV lamp in one bulb you need to pick up a power sun bulb. They range from 35-50 bucks depending on wattage, but come with a 3 year warranty Zoo Med PowerSun UVB 100 Watt. Again, just make sure you have a large enough fixture for holding these bulbs, and make sure they do not spot light the ground to an insanely hot temperature!!
