Not really furnitureJul 25, 2009

We decided our chinchilla shouldn't need to slum it without any furniture in his hut, and Ikea is too far to drive, so ... we ordered this lovely couch.
When we got it, it was already sagging a bit in the center, and the cushions didn't seem too soft, so we we're sure if the chinchilla would like it. Since it matched the walls and we were too lazy to return it, we decided to plop it down in his cage and see what happened. He mustn't like the way it looks, as he immediately modified it quite a bit by gnawing on it. That must have felt good, as he keeps going at it. Maybe I should start gnawing at our couch?
Anyway, it makes a great treat, so we're happy with that. Now if only I could find a matching ottoman!

rabbit couchOct 25, 2009
By formykidz rabbit ate this right up. Only complaint is that it didn't last long. I had a similar product that lasted several weeks...this only lasted a few days. Probably better suited for Guinea Pig.

This is the gift for the rodent who already has everything else they could possibly pee on already in their cage. I bought this couch for my chinchilla who thinks he is a person. Now he spends every evening sitting on the couch eating hay and watching tv while his mate grumbles about him never cleaning the cage... seriously, he actually does love to sit on the couch and watch tv with us while he eats-his favorite show is Phineas and Ferb. My chins have not done much chewing on it, but they do not seem to be big fans of the material that the Snak Shak products are made of (which seems to be sawdust and sugar). It is a cute addition to a cage and most animals seem to enjoy the flavor, but even if they don't devour it at least it is something to climb on that you know is safe to chew on if they chose to.
A sofa pets are allowed to chew!Jul 28, 2009
By C. Chew I put this in my rabbits' cage and by the next morning, there were already obvious chew marks on the edges. Subsequently, I've watched my mini rex nibble to her heart's content along the edges, hopefully keeping those teeth in good shape! Now if only the lionhead would follow suit! The couch itself is cute and has sustained regular gnawing without sign of breaking up or falling apart. I have not observed the animals sitting/laying on the couch, even though they would be able to reach a toy above it if they did. The couch is a bit of an investment upfront, but it sure beats having to put small wood chews in the cage every other day.
